About Us

An exciting, new slow- pitch softball league started in 2010! It is an opportunity for Madison, Wisconsin - area men, ages 55 & up, to play organized games on Wednesday and Thursday mornings against other senior men in a fun, safe environment.

GMSS promotes team play, good sportsmanship, and participation for all players. (See "GMSS Rules" above for the details.)

It is open to all teams from the Greater Madison area, and games will be played at Middleton's Bowling Green Recreation Center

Players from GMSS visited the Attic Angels Community on July 9, 2014 and spent time talking all things baseball. The visit provided residents a wonderful opportunity to learn about the league and talk with some of our players about their memories and actvities. Special thanks to all who participated.

The major focus of GMSS is to have fun, but because this is  somewhat competitive, we're looking for players with past experience playing softball.

2018 Indoor Practices at GRB

Indoor practices will be March 7 through April 11 at GRB Academy.  Cost is $5 per time.  Click the link below for directions, but use the map like this:  The map erroneously shows 6385 North Towne Rd as a spot way North of where GRB really is.  With the map up on your screen, scroll down to where Hwy 19 is (between I-39/90/94 and U.S. 51).  You will see where North Towne Rd junctions Hwy 19 between Settlers Bank and Southside Tire.  Enlarge the map until you can read the names of the businesses located there, and then go North a little (still significantly South of where the big Red sign is for 6385) and up by the large blue lake you will see the GRB Academy location.  Note that North Towne Rd going South out of DeForest and the one going North from Hwy 19 do not connect.  You cannot get to GRB off of Windsor Parkway.  Do not rely on your GPS since it will probably be incorrect.
